In order to achieve Global Elite in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive you must be willing to learn. As soon as you start considering yourself as the best, you will start to fall off. There is always somewhere you can improve in Counter-Strike, so try to always have a goal in mind when you play. Skills come with experience and practice, but if you aren’t doing any, then don’t expect to get better!

Tip 1: Stay Focused

Even though it can be fun to spam games, it can hurt you because you start to lose games, the more games you have played in a row. Taking a break can be a good idea if you start to autopilot in your games.

Tip 2: Don’t Tilt

The quickest way to lose a game is by “tilting”. Tilting means to get angry/confused. When you start to become more toxic to your teammates which ruin the team morale. It also decreases your ability to play well because you begin to focus more on what the opponent/teammates are doing that is annoying you, instead of focusing on winning the round.

When you start tilting you need to take a few big breaths and try to remain calm. You should under no circumstance get angry at your teammates since it will result in the playing (even) worse.

Tip 3: Try Not to Be Frag Hungry

Being frag hungry when having the man advantage (4v2, 3v1 e.g.) will result in the opponents having a much higher chance of winning the round because they will have more opportunities to catch you off guard. Before pushing when in a man advantage you should consider whether it is a good idea. Try to always think before you do something.

Tip 4: Time Management

Achieving Global Elite can be a lengthy process, especially if you don’t try to actively improve, you will reach a point where your improvement is so slow, that you aren’t actively improving. Once people reach that point, they most likely burn out from playing the game.

Improving in Counter-Strike can be compared to going to the training of normal physical activity. A person running 5 kilometers 3 times a week with no goal in mind, will improve much slower than the person running 5 kilometers 3 times a week with a dedicated training plan for how to improve.

Conclusion

Having a good mindset when playing is something that most people don’t think about. You should try to always stay as positive as possible. Stay focused by sometimes taking breaks from the game, you will improve faster by not just mindlessly spamming games.  Be prepared to use some time to improve, otherwise, you will improve at a very slow pace.
